Defensive Driver Training

Driving is the most dangerous work activity that most people do. Around 20 people are killed and 220 seriously injured every week in road related accidents.

This is why DFC has partnered with RoSPA to provide driver training for company drivers.

DFC has negotiated exclusive rates with  RoSPA for all car  and van drivers for a half day driver training course.

As an employer you have a DUTY OF CARE  towards those who drive for work purposes. Just ensuring that company vehicles have a valid MOT certificate and drivers hold a valid driving license does not satisfy your legal responsibilities. Employers must also conduct suitable risk assessments and put in place all reasonably practical measures to ensure that work related journeys are safe, staff are competent to drive safely and that the vehicles are fit for purpose and a safe condition.

In addition to your employee’s safety there are economic reasons for driver training such as:

  • 26% reduction in road traffic accidents
  • £330 reduction per vehicle in accident costs
  • £250 reduction per vehicle in fuel costs
  • £150 reduction per vehicle in maintenance costs
  • £85 reduction per vehicle in insurance costs
  • Improved company image/reputation
  • Reduced risk of litigation
  • Reduced days lost due to injury
  • Reduced administration time
